This course will help:
- Gain proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting the most common network and security issues in infrastructures protected by Fortinet solutions
- Learn how to use diagnostic utilities and debugging commands to identify, isolate, and resolve issues
- Develop skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting IPsec, routing, and web content filtering issues
- Learn how to identify and resolve issues related to High Availability (HA) and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the principles of operating and supporting network infrastructures based on FortiGate devices

- Monitor process activity, diagnose conserve mode, and troubleshoot unexpected reboots and frozen devices
- Analyze information in the session table and debug flow output
- Troubleshoot session helpers
- Troubleshoot common problems related to local, LDAP, RADIUS, and SAML authentication
- Troubleshoot common FSSO problems
- Troubleshoot FortiGuard and web filtering problems
- Monitor an HA cluster and troubleshoot common HA problems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose IPsec VPNs with debug and sniffer commands
- Troubleshoot routing problems with debug commands
- Monitor OSPF status and troubleshoot common OSPF problems with debug commands
- Monitor and verify the BGP status with commands and troubleshoot common BGP issues
Pre-requisites:
This course assumes that participants have an understanding of the topics covered in the FortiGate Administrator course or equivalent practical experience. Prior study of the topics covered in the Enterprise Firewall course is also recommended.
